Yet Another Republican finds digital racism funny: Frago in CA

The content of the emails that Republican Gary Frago was passing around are the most racist so far that have been noted by major media outlets.  The Republicans just need to learn that you don’t forward racist emails, and you don’t respond to or post racist comments on Facebook and Twitter.  It’s that simple.  Nothing is private anymore.  Note to the party: You don’t need anymore help looking insensitive.  You’re party’s participation in the Sotomayor hearings was quite enough, at least for this week.

Here is the scoop from Wonkette (Who’s liberal use of the n-word at one point gave me pause.  Just because you’re talking about someone else using the word doesn’t mean you should.  I’m talking about: “Niggers are just a naturally funny subject, to everyone.” Um…really?)

The latest batch of foul, blatant racism comes from “City Councilman Gary Frago,” in some place near Merced, California. And he’s not sorry, either! “I’m not the only one that does it,” Frago told the Merced Sun-Star. Yeah, we’ve noticed.

All in all, the Sun-Star obtained seven e-mails that Frago sent from October 2008 to February 2009 from an anonymous source.

Some compared Obama to O.J. Simpson while others suggested that “nigger rigs” should now be called “presidential solutions.”

Perhaps the most overboard e-mail was sent on Jan. 15. It read: “Breaking News Playboy just offered Sarah Palin $1 million to pose nude in the January issue. Michelle Obama got the same offer from National Geographic.”

The newspaper tracked down the person who sent the emails to Frago — as always, Frago simply forwarded these humorous items to everyone in town. And you know what? The guy who sent ‘em to Frago didn’t find anything racist about these racist emails, either! Niggers are just a naturally funny subject, to everyone:

Rieger said the jokes he sent had no racial meaning. “As far as I’m concerned the e-mails need no explanation,” he said. “I sent them out, I’m not concerned with it,” he said.

Rieger also said he had no idea what Frago’s constituents might think of the e-mails. “I’m sure if I was black I’d have a different idea of what was funny,” he said. “I got black friends that I would tell these jokes to and they would roll on the floor in laughter.”

  1. I see a world where all of God’s children will be judged by their character. This site, like Ms. Boxer, is blind to its own racial propoganda and enabling rhetoric.
It is the entitlement mentality that is now bringing down our country:

  2. How about Brian Kilmeade’s comments? (see link below)

Apparently he thinks that the species Homo sapiens is comprised of one race — Caucasian (which is interesting, when you consider that the fossil evidence shows Homo sapiens arose in AFRICA, where EVERYONE was black in the beginning), and that other so-called people are actually an entirely separate intelligent species that Homo sapiens interbreeds with on occasion.

What in the world is that supposed to mean? Just what “racial propoganda & enabling rhetoric” is this site espousing?

The man used inappropriate and inflammatory language, there is no way for you to defend that, Bruce Hedrick. So, you come up with a nebulous phrase like “racial propoganda & enabling rhetoric” to assuage your embarrassment over one of your skin folks proving that racism has not died, and that despite Obama’s election this is NOT a post-racial country.

  4. My response to Isome was reasonable and polite. To not post it tells me this site is not only censored, but dishonest.
I will leave those who desire to put their blackness first, to their self-imposed misery.
And now you have a quandary; would it best meet your special interests to post this secondary response? .. Do you know the definition of a para-intellectual?

You know what I find funny. Abraham Lincoln was the first Republican president. The Jim Crow laws were perpetrated by Democrats. Who cares about history? Condoleezza Rice was once asked why she was Republican and she brought these facts up. Republicans were the only ones who would register her father to vote. Despite her impressive accomplishments she was dismissed as a pawn by the black community. What a shame. Democrats now buy the black vote with food stamps and other social programs.

Frago admitted he’s a lifelong Democrat. How stupid do you all feel now “profiling” him as a Republican? Oh, I guess it’s only racism when it goes the other way, it’s only profiling when it happens the other way. Morons.

“I got black friends that I would tell these jokes to and they would roll on the floor in laughter.”

This must be the post racial society everyone seems to be talking about.

Whether this jerk was Republican or Democrat is beside the point. The emails were racist and he had no business forwarding them around.

I’m glad this has been exposed. What is wrong with White people that they find racism funny in 2009?

This is a great blog by the way. Found it linked at one of Abagond’s blogs.
