I love this. Critics have been nothing but critical of President Obama from day one, but they can’t stop him from having some fun. He has charisma and a personality (something one candidate in the Republican field can’t seem to find or make up his mind about). Take notes people. It’s called like-ability.
“I’m President Barack Obama, and I, too, would like to Slow Jam the News,” said Obama. Good Job, Mr. President. Kudos to the Roots and Jimmy Fallon as well!!!
This video will get millions of views and make people aware of what is going on with student loan funding, Pell grants and the potential rise in interest rates. Many of the viewers will be young people who don’t follow politics. They will be able to easily understand why this is a pocket-book issue of them and how it impacts their future. Obama needs to see huge youth vote numbers to win in November. I believe this was a smart move for him.
If it’s ok for Santorum to take news crews with him on a hunting trip and Gingrich to talk about building a colony on the moon, I really dare crazy Right wing folks to have a problem with Barack Obama using some humor to get a serious point across to young people.
If you don’t get it, you may not be part of the intended audience.
I’m not surprised that Ann Coulter said “our blacks are so much better than their blacks” when she appeared on Sean Hannity’s show on Monday (video below). I’m not shocked by the uproar that has ensued. She didn’t back down from her comments when HLN’s Joy Behar asked her about it on Tuesday. I’m not shocked by that either. Ann Coulter is a straight up, tell you to your face BIGOT. She’s been that way for years. She’s been saying the same type of racist garbage for years. The shock is that..
A. People are shocked by her most recent comments in light of what she’s said in the past.
B. Networks like Fox and HLN still give this bigot a podium.
When I heard her comments from the Fox broadcast I wanted to say, “Oh, so Missy Ann is a pundit now?!?!”. Really? Do you own blacks, Ann? How many Negroes do you own? How long have you been the mistress of the plantation?
Dear African-American Republicans, You need to take off the watermelon suits and tap dancing shoes and listen to what the party really thinks about us. Yes, US. Don’t act like you’re special because you get to live in the house and master thinks you’re smart…for a negro. Yes, that’s right. Not as smart as ole masta, but smarter than those Democratic field coons.
Oh, you don’t think that is what is actually being said? Well, then I think the Republicans surely “own” the right blacks for the job. So many of America’s politicians are “owned” by corporations and special interests that I guess you guys would say “At least we got some Good white folks.”.
Yall betta run on. I hear Missy Ann uh calling.

I’m confused. I know that all the potential Republican candidates are basically competing on the airwaves to see who can bash Obama best. However, Michele Bachmann has tacked on some promises to her usual President bashing in this video that I’m don’t think she intends to keep.
“This president has failed the Hispanic community. He has failed the African-American community,” she said. “He has failed us all when it comes to jobs.” Um, just because your intern looked up some statistics online, does mean you understand the impact of joblessness in minority communities.
- Is this how she appeals to Blacks and Latinos? I guess we’re dumb enough to just believe numbers and not consider the context of our lives or who’s talking, huh?
- Does she really, really intend to be a jobs champion for Blacks and Latinos?
- Is equality and job creation in minority communities what the Tea Party has been fighting for all this time? If so (you know that’s not so) that message has not been clear at all.
I’m very confused. Is she running for President of the USA or President of the NAACP? Is she trying to present at the next Alma Awards? Please!! People will say anything to get a vote.
Wow. Jill Scott and Common, two of the most mellow and artistic musical phenoms I know, are getting bashed by the right-wing (Palin and Drudge Report) for lyrics. I’m sure these pundits had no clue who they were before this and have simply discovered them via the White House Poetry night. Um…didn’t Bush Senior’s Presidency include a visit from Easy E (He gave big donations to the Republican Party. Long story. See VH1 RockDocs.).
Oh I get it! You can visit the White House if you’re a real thug AND you’ve given to the RNC. Well, that explains a whole lot.
This is a mess. So you can’t do protest songs any more? Joan Baez, anyone? Bob Dylan, maybe. You can’t talk about your opinions on race, politics, etc in songs anymore, Right Wing America? All we can listen to is Travis Tritt crooning about the Red, White, and Blue? I’m moving to Canada.
You can’t wish ill of the president? Really, Really? As much as the right-wing tolerates people calling Obama names and calling for bad things to happen to him…you are going to bring up some song lyrics? Hypocracy!

I’m coming back yall. Had to take a break. There is too much good news out there for me not to throw my 2 cents in, so I’ll get down to business in the next few days. Thank you to all my readers who encourage me to keep writing and posting interesting, racist, sad, crazy, and at times positive information.
Sidenote: I thought Obama was going to say that aliens had landed and revealed themselves instead of Usama bin Laden* being killed. Don’t laugh. So did a lot of other people…I was on Twitter looking at all of the predictions. Maybe it was due to this Dave Chappelle skit.
Man, I love reading crazy comments on Twitter during major events and award shows. Anyone out there feel the same way?
*All of a sudden there are 2 spellings for Osama? All this week I’ve seen “Usama” from the FBI posters. Ummm…am I the only one seeing this. Are there just 2 spellings or were Americans spelling his name wrong for years. Just wondering.
Update: Much Love to Kyle for answering my question below.!
I have 2 words for everyone who thinks that the GOP and Tea Party victories in the 2010 Election are bad for Obama. BILL CLINTON
Everyone talks a big game. It’s when game times comes that we see who the real champions are. It’s game time, but as they say “the game doesn’t change, just the players”. Have we seen this team on the right wing bench before?
In Bill Clinton’s day, the GOP said they could do a better job. American put them in the game. They shut the government down and talked a lot of bull. That veto pin was really busy. In the end, America realized that ole Bill Clinton wasn’t that bad in comparison. People rejected the GOP’s efforts and Clinton got a second term. OH, and America got a budget surplus. We could use a surplus right now, right?
Now, I’m not saying that the GOP of old was absolutely terrible. The fact that both Clinton and the right had to move to the center helped in many ways. I should also note that there was much collaboration and cooperation at that time. We haven’t seen much of that between the parties during this administration.
My prediction is that the GOP will be challenged not only by the left, but also by the Tea Party whom they’ve catered to and made promises to. If they can’t live up to the hype they’ve created, I predict that it will help Obama win re-election in 2012. Their candidate will be associated with their failure.
Hopefully, those representing the GOP/Tea Party will be held accountable and not allowed to sell out to corporations and special interests. With regard to reigning in spending…good luck with that. Social Security is killing us, but it’s still a sacred cow.
Oh, let’s add to this that I don’t see any right-wing contenders for the Presidency (as of this date) who could win over conservative liberals and is popular with independents. Palin doesn’t count.
In the end…these election results could end up helping President Obama win re-election in 2012. There is always a set up, people. Always.
Can you imagine what would happen if Michelle Obama said that she studied witchcraft…But it’s ok…because she never actually joined a coven? Fox News would have a field day. Most evangelicals equate Wiccans with Satanists, but an admission like this might be considered minor. You see, I’m almost sure many of them consider being a Muslim as far worse that either. Just my opinion. Maybe that’s why they aren’t tripping about comments made years ago by Senate Candidate Christine O’Donnell on “Politically Incorrect”.
If the First Lady ever admitted practicing Voodoo or dabbling in Islam or considering Athiesm…It would be ON and poppin…like popcorn! LOL
I just love this quote from Bill Maher – “It’s funny to me, Chris, because this is the woman who claimed on another one of our ‘Politically Incorrect’ episodes from the ’90s that she would not lie, even in the case of hiding Anne Frank in her attic,” Maher told Matthews. “Eddie Izzard confronted her and said, ‘Really? If Hitler was at the door and you had Anne Frank in the attic, you wouldn’t lie?’ She said, ‘No. God would find a way.’ ” Now that is good TV! Crazy with a side of oblivious.
Hopefully, God will find a way for the people of Delaware to have proper representation. In my opinion Christine could make far more money as an entertaining pundit. Look at Sister Sarah P. She’s gangsta…the Lil Kim of Pundits.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Political correctness, be damned! All of the racists and bigots out there need to just take it back to 1960 and call the President the N-Word! I’m tired of the re-directing. Stop coming up with random titles and false charges to apply to this man. You are mad because the President of the United States is a Black man. Period. You are afraid. You are outraged that a Black person has that much power. You are a closeted racist and you know who you are. You are so bold and you are so sure you’re right, why do you hide your true feelings?
LiveScience.com – Americans have some extreme views of President Obama, with a new survey revealing 40 percent of adults believe he is a socialist, and about a quarter of survey participants thinking the president is a racist, anti-American and even doing things Hitler did.
The whammy: 14 percent of Americans say President Barack Obama may be the Antichrist. When split by political party, 24 percent of Republicans and 6 percent of Democrats viewed the nation’s leader in this way.
The results come from a Harris Poll involving 2,320 adults who were surveyed online between March 1 and March 8 by Harris Interactive, a market research firm. Respondents were selected from among those who agreed to participate in Harris Interactive surveys. The results were then weighted to reflect the composition of the U.S. adult population. [Infographic Compares Views]
Here’s the percentage breakdown of respondents’ views of President Obama:
- 38 percent say he wants to take away Americans’ right to own guns.
- 32 percent say he is a Muslim.
- 29 percent think he wants to turn over the sovereignty of the United States to a one world government.
- 29 percent think he has done many things that are unconstitutional.
- 27 percent say he resents America’s heritage.
- 27 percent say he does what Wall Street and the bankers tell him to do.
- 25 percent say he was not born in the United States and so is not eligible to be president.
- 25 percent say he is a domestic enemy that the U.S. Constitutions speaks of.
- 23 percent say he is a racist.
- 23 percent say he is anti-American.
- 23 percent say he wants to use an economic collapse or terrorist attack as an excuse to take dictatorial powers.
- 20 percent say he is doing many of the things that Hitler did.
When broken out by political party, results showed some stark differences. For instance, the majority of Republicans believed the president is a Muslim and a socialist, while around 40 percent believe he is a racist, someone who resents American heritage and “wants terrorists to win.”
Hitler? Really? Where is this sentiment coming from? Why do people hold these false, extreme beliefs? Because in politically correct, “post-racial” America you can’t just say, “I don’t like the President because he’s a nigger and I don’t like/trust/serve/deal with niggers!”. Say it. Start saying it pundits! Start saying Fox News! Start saying it Tea Party members! Join those who are very open with their racist views and don’t hide behind politics. Be honest and stop this ridiculous posturing. You go around calling the President and Congress liars and crooks but you yourself hide your real intentions. Trust me, your fellow Americans would prefer to know who they are REALLY dealing with and hearing from.
I would much rather know that you’re a bigot than have you smile in my face or be dishonest about it. Go ahead, call a spade a spade.

Tavis Smiley is hosting a national forum today in Chicago titled, “We Count! The Black Agenda is the American Agenda.” I don’t like the title at all. The Black Agenda is PART of the American Agenda but it’s not THE Agenda any more than the Hispanic, White, Native American, or Asian “Agendas”. Do I think that the US Government should show concern when any of its citizens are racially profiled, denied mortgages, or otherwise discriminated against? Yes. Do I think African-American face some special challenges due to institutionalized racism in this country? Yes. However, I think that the Black community has to galvanize and organize to create solutions internally and not depend on the Federal Government or Barack Obama for all the answers. Where are the Black leaders who are challenging Black America to stand up and take responsiblity? Where are the brothers and sisters who understand that WE not ONE can save the nation?
If this all you have to do be a Black leader? Get a soap box on TV and take that influence to create a leadership persona. Is it really that simple? I really have to question the context of this meeting. Is there corporate sponsorship? Is it being done in a spirit of black unity? I didn’t hear about it until Tavis had a bone to pick with other black leaders.
The issue came to a head recently when Tavis Smiley, appearing on the morning show of syndicated radio host Tom Joyner, openly questioned black leaders such as NAACP President Ben Jealous, the Rev. Al Sharpton and the National Council of Negro Women’s Dorothy Height about their unwillingness to hold President Obama accountable for these disparities and demanded that Obama develop an agenda targeted to address black inequalities. Impassioned by the debate, Smiley is hosting a national forum today in Chicago titled, “We Count! The Black Agenda is the American Agenda.” – Washington Post
You know, we need to be real. There are a lot of black people who are wearing the leadership hat who frankly may just be working their gig for everylittle bit of fame we will give them because that is their full-time job. If you are selling books, throwing events, or appearing as a TV news pundit more than twice a year, I think you may just be trying to drum up business for yourself. Let’s be real people, we all know of black activists who are not in it for the money. We see people working who don’t have to invent issues or attach themselves to the latest tragedy of the day. They are working hard as advocates on the behalf of the people and their rewards are progress and change…not air time and notoriety. Continue reading
